Client company, a leading communications systems innovator, is seeking someone to fill the top finance role. Client is a ~$50M company, consisting of two strategic business units: Military & Space Systems (MSS), and Commercial Airborne Systems. This position serves as the chief financial officer for the company, reports to the President, sits on the senior staff, and may be hired at a Director or Vice-President level depending on qualifications and background.

The Controller provides strategic leadership and operational coordination of company financial planning & analysis, direction of budget & forecast management functions and assurance that company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and US government contracting regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plays a key role in strategic and operational planning
• Oversees daily operations of the finance and accounting department
• Directly supervises and mentors a financial accounting manager and payroll/finance administration manager
• Manages the preparation of all financial reports to meet local and corporate requirements
• Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget for the whole company and the two SBUs.

• Serves as primary government liaison relative to financial issues (i.e., DCAA, DFAR, FAR)
• Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
• Oversees the product costing & proposal pricing organization

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong Accounting experience; CPA/MBA preferred
• 10+ years experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position, including at least 5 years an aerospace-defense manufacturing environment, and at least 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience
• Mandatory experience in government contract accounting, including CAS and FAR provisions and understanding of DCAA and DCMA operations
• Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP
• Good working knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems (PM, Hyperion)
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Working knowledge of short / long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects

Communicates issues, status, and accomplishments to the Business Unit President and Sr. Financial and Operational Business Analyst regarding areas of responsibility in a timely manner including information to assist management in proactive decision-making.

Communicates necessary information with Business Unit field operations management to ensure accuracy of the financial statements.

Assists in establishing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures necessary to support and provide accurate and timely reporting.

Establishes, modifies, documents and coordinates implementation of accounting and control procedures as necessary to meet established business unit goals and comply with regulatory standards.

Assists in the yearly budget process.

Provides assistance to the Sr. Financial and Operational Business Analyst on issues in the Eastern Hemisphere, when needed.

Must have expert familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field including a theoretical and practical understanding of US GAAP.

Maintains open lines of communication and works independently as well as part of a team. Shares knowledge and helps fellow associates where needed, regardless to whom the responsibility belongs.

SUMMARY:

Within the guidelines of departmental policy, the Payroll Supervisor provides a full range of Payroll support functions for an internal customer group. The Payroll Supervisor relies on experience and business acumen to plan and accomplish goals and meet various payroll deadlines under the general supervision of the Payroll Manager.

IA is charged with ensuring the following Department objectives:

The Auditor will conduct the activities described below in support of the above Department objectives.

The work of Auditors is generally organized into review engagements of locations and business processes. These engagements generally consist of three phases 1) Planning, 2) Fieldwork, and 3) Reporting. The role of the Auditor in each of these phases is described below.

Planning: The Auditor is responsible for completing various aspects related to planning for the engagement. The Engagement Manager will assign the areas that the Auditor will be responsible for completing. In general, Auditors must be capable of completing the following items.

• Generating and analyzing data from Company software and databases related to the entity being reviewed.

• Conducting interviews with various Company personnel relevant to the area the Auditor is reviewing.

• Use data gathered and interviews conducted to prepare a written report that will need to be presented to the Engagement Manager and will be incorporated into a formal planning document.

• Performing any steps of the review engagement that may be conducted prior to the beginning of fieldwork.

Fieldwork: The Auditor is responsible for performing various portions of the review as assigned by the Engagement Manager.

• Review engagements generally have a written work program that outlines the steps and areas to be reviewed by the Auditor. Auditors should ensure that these programs are completed in a timely and thorough manner.

• Completion of the work program will entail working closely with the client to gather, discuss, and analyze relevant information to the area under review.

• Document with work papers the steps performed in the workprogram. Work papers must be of sufficient quality to be reviewed by external auditors.

• Preparation of memorandum to management regarding issues identified during the course of the review.

• Review and thoroughly discuss issue memorandum with the client and Engagement Manager.

• Participate in closing meeting with the client and other team members.

Other:
