With career path to Chief Engineer for the facility,  Preferably with experience in boom crane truck manufacturing environment.

General Job Objective:

Perform engineering work including the design of new products, evaluation of new technologies, managing product development through suppliers, developing solutions to production problems with existing products, handling medium engineering projects, and assisting in various phases of major projects.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Develop and modify engineering plans and designs for products in compliance with industry standards.
2. Investigate and analyze new materials, components, equipment, invoices and engineering practices.
3. Prepare engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and new designs.
4. Analyze quotes, bids, and costs and develop recommendations.
5. Prepare production cad drawings of new designs and redesigns.
6. Develop, maintain, and enter engineering bills of materials.
7. Manage continuing product upgrades through vendor relationships.
8. Interface with marketing/dealer network to facilitate new product ideas.
9. Provide technical assistance to Product Support Dept. for installed base.

Marginal Job Functions:

1. Perform equipment and material test studies.
2. Assist in the construction of prototypes.
3. Assist in the development of written procedures for the operation and or installation of new products.
4. Assist in the design and development of special testing machines.
5. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with advanced work in electrical and hydraulics.
2. 10 years experience as a product design engineer, having worked with load charts in boom/crane manuf. apps.
3. Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes, material selections, and product testing.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Computer skills/CAD.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment with sporadic and sometime lengthy exposure to production and testing areas. Occasional travel by ground or air.
