International Trade Compliance Regulatory Manager

Essential Responsibilities:
• Focus on International Trade Compliance responsibilities as assigned my management.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of local, country and international trade laws affecting operations in the South and Central America region, including basic understanding of U.S. trade regulations (EAR, ITAR, Customs Treasury's OFAC).
• Interact with business units to conduct due diligence reviews/audits.
• Establish, implement, update and maintain the trade compliance procedures to ensure compliance with regulations relating to international trade.
• Interact with Government Regulatory Agencies and 3rd parties within the area of accountability.
• Develop, implement, and maintain training programs to ensure employees and businesses involved in trade compliance related activities understand and follow Company Trade (Policy) procedures.
• Support and help businesses to realize cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in managing trade compliance performance of third party companies (import brokers, freight forwarders, etc.).
• Ensure efficient, secure and compliance cross-border transactions for NAFTA and other applicable FTAs.
• Support the International Trade Compliance specialists with product classifications & SAP GTS masterdata relating to Harmonized Tariff (HTS), Country of Origin, Export Classification Control Number (ECCN) and Import Classification Control Number (ICCN).
• Participate in surveillance against customers and suppliers who are on current lists of global denied parties using automated trade control system (SAP GTS).
• Ensure trade compliance records are maintained in accordance with all applicable record keeping regulations. Travel to South & Central America countries.

General Responsibilities:
• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.  

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree combined with practical legal experience in Trade Compliance issues with at least 2+ years experience. 
• Affinity with the chemical industry preferred.

Special Qualifications:
• Fluent in English and strong Spanish required with some proficiency in Portuguese preferred due to the travel required to South and Central America.
• Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
• Proficient ability for regulatory details; ability to interpret and apply regulations in multiple languages.
• Solid knowledge of international laws and regulations governing Customs and Export Control.
• Strong SAP GTS experience high desirable.
• Willing to travel throughout the region / internationally. Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
